Help us share HerStories with kids in underprivileged schools - sponsor a reading!
It is simple - we read the HerStories to children across Dhaka. Our readers are trained to share the adventures of Supergirls with readers of class III and up. During the session we talk about passion, determination, challenges, justice and cricket. The circle is a safe space to share, laugh and learn without prejudice. We believe that through the positive reinforcement of storytelling we can nurture empathy, respect and self-reliance. Readings are engaging, entertaining, and inspiring!
HerStories: Adventures of Supergirls Vol. 1 and Vol.2 are collections of stories about 40 exceptional women of present-day Bangladesh. They are activists, athletes, scientists, doctors and writers that overcame setbacks, challenges, and mountains to realise their dreams. The books are designed to inspire girls and boys to aspire to do great things. In the context of Bangladesh, where girls often drop out of school and marry young, these stories propose an alternative future. For boys, they are lessons in respect that broaden their understanding of what it means to play like a girl.
